Glover Elementary Students will Enjoy Rockets Reading Corner when School Begins

FORT BEND ISD -When Glover Elementary School students return to school in the fall, they will enjoy a new reading corner in their school’s library, courtesy of the Houston Rockets and the University of Phoenix Houston Campus. The reading corner is equipped with a wooden table and chairs, decorative rugs, beanbag chairs, Leap Frog story books, and Leapster and LeapPad Explorer learning game systems.

The school received the prizes following students’ success in the Rockets “Read to Achieve” Program. The students completed more than 450,000 minutes of reading in the program. As a reward, the school received a Houston Rockets ribbon-cutting ceremony and school pep rally with Rockets mascot, Clutch. During the pep rally, Rockets Ranger Dominic Davila and Clutch congratulated students on their reading success. Clutch also presented Glover’s top grade level readers –  Keshawn Minor (1st grade), Terrance Jones (2nd grade), Johnae Pickard (3rd grade) and Kaila McZeal (5th grade) – with a Rockets alarm clock.
