FORT BEND ISD - Fort Bend Independent School District is 50 years old and will celebrate its golden anniversary with events and activities that are planned throughout the 2009-2010 school year. In April, the district unveiled its 50^th anniversary logo with the theme for the 2009-2010 school year - Fifty Years of Promising Futures, Building a Legacy of Leaders to coincide with the consolidation in April 1959. The celebration will officially begin at the district's Leadership Institute on August 5, 2009. The theme will be used throughout the year on the district's website with an enhanced webpage featuring a timeline with history lessons, educational resources, and historical photos.

Feature stories and important information about the district's 50 years of history will also be an integral part of internal and external print publications and shared at district events throughout the school year.

Help us celebrate the district's golden anniversary by sharing historical photos and special memories from each of the five decades in the history of Fort Bend ISD 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. The district especially needs your best campus photos of sports and fine arts; hairstyles and clothing; buses and cars, buildings, and special events. All photos need to be in a JPEG format and scanned at 300 dpi. Please include your name, campus, year the photo was taken and a brief description of the photo, and email to becky.walker@fortbendisd.com.
