Fort Bend ISD School Health Advisory Council Wins Statewide Recognition

FORT BEND ISD - Fort Bend ISD has been chosen as one of the first recipients of the 2008-2009 Award of Excellence for Local School Health Advisory Councils (SHACs). This grant award, presented by the Southern Collaborative on Obesity Reduction Efforts (SCORE) team members and state leaders, highlights school districts that have shown characteristics of effective SHACs and excellence in their work. The Texas Education Agency's Division of Health, Student Support and Discipline recently announced the five winners of the $2,000 grant award. FBISD's School Health Advisory Council is co-chaired by Dr. Bob Conlon, FBISD Director of Student Support Services, and Theresa Kopnicky, Executive Director of Mental Health America of Fort Bend County.
