First Colony Middle School Honors Band Gearing Up for Another Eventful Year!

FORT BEND ISD ― The 2009-2010 school year will soon begin, reuniting students and teachers in the classroom, and in extra-curricular activities. Honors Band students at First Colony Middle School will be in store for another exciting year in music under the direction of Bethann Adams and Shannon Wallace, who will lead students in extensive practice in preparation of upcoming performances and competitions. The award-winning band had an eventful season last school year. The band performed at the Bands of America – Music for All National Concert Band Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana during Spring Break 2009. They were one of only four bands throughout the U.S. invited to perform at the inaugural 2009 National Middle School Band Festival, marking the band’s fourth national recognition. In 2006, the band performed at the 33rd Annual Southeastern United States Band Clinic in Troy, Alabama. In 2002, the band performed at the 56th Annual Midwest Clinic in Chicago and was also recognized by the John Philip Sousa Foundation with the 2002 Sudler Silver Cup.
