Local Organization Recognizes College Bound Students from Fort Bend ISD

FORT BEND ISD ― Fourteen recent Fort Bend ISD high school graduates were honored by members of Bountiful Harvest, Inc. (BH) at the organization’s Academic Achievers luncheon held at the Quail Run Community Center. Selected by their individual high schools, the honorees were recognized for having maintained a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and for planning to further their education at an accredited college or university after completing high school.

The luncheon included opening remarks by Harvey Sanders, BH Board President; and recognitions by Mike McKie, FBISD Assistant Superintendent for High Schools, and Clarence McQueen, teacher at Marshall High School. BH Founder/CEO Oscar Keye Johnson introduced Reverend Leslie Smith as the keynote speaker for the event.

Honored were Alma Buena, Willowridge HS; Shawn Dreka Clemons, Willowridge HS; Diana Escareno, Willowridge HS; Esperanza Garcia; Willowridge HS; Taloria Gillespie; Marshall HS; Niyati Hariyani, Hightower HS; Ronald Johnson, Marshall HS; Matthew Lee, Hightower HS; Jibi Mathew, Hightower HS; Chi Nguyen, Hightower HS; Angel Ostorva, Willowridge HS; Ana Rios, Willowridge HS; Daniel Thompson, Marshall HS; and Gilbert Tumaliuan, Marshall HS.
