Sixty Glover Elementary School Students Inducted into National Elementary Honor Society
FORT BEND ISD ― Sixty Glover Elementary School students, in grades 4-6, were recently inducted into the National Elementary Honor Society. The National Elementary Honor Society recognizes students who have achieved academic excellence and demonstrated responsibility in their lives and also engages those students in service and leadership development activities. This is the first Elementary Honor Society induction for Glover Elementary.
During the induction ceremony, the students took part in a candlelight ceremony highlighting scholarship, responsibility, service and leadership. Marshall High School’s Air Force JROTC posted the colors and led the pledge of allegiance. The guest speaker for the event was Mrs. Xcelsia Bledsoe of the General Electric Company. A graduate of Fort Bend ISD, she encouraged students to set goals in life and follow through by reviewing those goals as they continue to achieve in school. The ceremony ended with a reception for students and their parents and guardians. Felicia Johnson, school counselor, coordinated the event.
Advisers for the Glover Elementary Chapter are Danita DeFlora-Johnson, Tiffany Foster, Felicia Johnson, Latausha Lee, and Linda Owens.
