Trustees Recognized by fifth-grade students from
FORT BEND ISD — Prior to the January 11 Board Business Meeting, Fort Bend ISD held a reception to thank the FBISD Board Members for their dedicated leadership in public education and continuing service to the children of the community. The District is fortunate to have seven individuals serving on the Board who have a strong commitment to doing what is best for the children in the district. The members of the FBISD Board of Trustees are: Bob Broxson, President; Laurie Caldwell, Vice President; David Reitz, Secretary; and members Sonal Bhuchar, Marilyn Glover, Susan Hohnbaum and Daniel Menendez.
Later at the Board meeting, fifth-grade students from Seguin Elementary presented each of the FBISD Trustees and the Superintendent with 50th Anniversary commemorative gifts. Fort Bend ISD turned 50 this year, and to highlight the anniversary, the students tinted historic photos that were framed for the Board Members, under the direction of their art teacher, Brenda Boccieri. Also assisting the students with the special presentation tothe Board were Seguin Principal Pat Shoffit, Assistant Principal Susan Allen, and Fine Arts Coordinator Amy Lucchesi.
