Willowridge High School students and staff collect over 30,000 bottles of water for earthquake survivors in Haiti

FORT BEND ISD —Students at Willowridge High School collected more than 30,000 bottles of water and 4,000 gallons of water for earthquake survivors in Haiti. The project was initiated by the Hispanic Honor Society and sponsor, Martin Lebron, and soon involved the entire school. “We want our students to see that helping others is a rewarding act, and to teach them how to show compassion to each other,” said Lebron.

Students and staff from Marshall, Travis and Dulles High Schools also donated water, as well as the HEB and Foodarama located in the Willowridge area.

Moms Against Hunger, in La Porte, Harris County, picked up the bottles of water. The group will send the water, plus donated shoes, sleeping bags and duffle bags to Haiti.
