Travis High School Senior Accepts Air Force Academy Appointment

FORT BEND ISD - Sammy Saltamachia, a senior at Travis High School, has accepted an invitation to attend the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She will begin on June 24, 2010. Nominated by Texas Senator, John Cornyn, Saltamachia received her Offer of Appointment on December 26. To be accepted into the Academy, candidates are evaluated on their academic, extracurricular and physical fitness backgrounds. Saltamachia has been a member of Travis High School’s Navy JROTC Unit and has attended the Military Leadership Academy sponsored by the Freedom Alliance for the past two years.
