Fort Bend ISD Schools Support Souper Bowl of Caring

FORT BEND ISD ― Several Fort Bend ISD schools took part in the national Souper Bowl of Caring campaign by donating non-perishable food items to benefit area food pantries. Souper Bowl of Caring, known as the nation’s largest youth-led weekend of giving and serving, equips and mobilizes youth to positively impact their communities by collecting money or food on or near Super Bowl weekend to help fight hunger and poverty. The following are just a few examples of the generosity demonstrated by FBISD students and staff in support of the Souper Bowl of Caring campaign.

The staff at Seguin Elementary School set a goal of 489 food items for Souper Bowl of Caring, projecting at least one item per student enrolled at the campus. Students and staff surpassed the goal by bringing in more than 1,630 food items to benefit the Fort Bend Women’s Center. The Souper Bowl of Caring campaign at Scanlan Oaks was spearheaded by Melanie Walter, nurse/counselor assistant, and will benefit the Sacred Heart Food Pantry in Arcola.
