Barrington Place Chess Team Earn Awards at Recent Tournament

FORT BEND ISD -- Barrington Place Elementary School’s chess team recently competed in the Village School Chess Tournament, earning top awards. Representing Barrington Place were Joseph Chang, Aneesha Krothapalli, Kevin Xu, and team coach Fredric Hinkle. After competing among 60 teams, Barrington Place placed 8^th with only 2.5 points away from third place. The team earned the highest ranking of any three-member team competing at the tournament. Kevin Xu tied for 1^st place in his section with a 4-0-1 record. Aneesha Krothapalli and Joseph Chang tied for 9^th place in their section, with a record of 3-2.
