FORT BEND ISD ― To celebrate the diverse cultures represented at their school, Highlands Elementary School students and staff held their 19th Annual Multi-Cultural Parade of Nations, on Friday, March 26. The campus parade featured students and staff dressed in festive clothing representing their native countries or depicting the Australian Outback.

Prior to participating in the parade, students completed a week-long study on cultures, which involved learning details surrounding the history, population, languages, foods, and other details associated with various countries. Shown leading the Parade of Nations are: (front row, from left) students Blake Wilson, Brooke Tanner, Andrew Escalona, Collin Lucas; and (back row) Jody Stiver, Gretchen Schmitz, Kim Warburton, Tommy Bellard, assistant principal; Ami Adwaney, Cindy Lucas, Dr. Latecha Bogle, principal; Michelle Escalona, Arlana Mann, and Lesley Holgorsen.
