Settlers Way Elementary School Celebrates 25th Anniversary
FORT BEND ISD ― Settlers Way Elementary School, home of the Explorers, celebrated its 25th anniversary with a memorable event that welcomed current and former students, staff, parents, and community members. The event featured a slide show presentation highlighting the school’s rich history, an exhibit of items originally locked inside a time capsule in 1985, musical entertainment, and refreshments. Current principal, Kristi Durham, also welcomed guests to the celebration and recognized former principals, Maureen Saenz and Vicki Delgado, and original Explorer staff who were in attendance.
Long-time Explorer and school nurse, Cathy Goodman, offered these words, “I am proud to say that I’ve worked at Settlers Way Elementary School since the day it opened, and I have loved every minute of being here,” she said. “I wouldn’t trade my experiences or memories of being an Explorer for anything.”
