District provides Cyberbullying information for students and parents at fortbendisd.com

FORT BEND ISD — Because Fort Bend ISD has recently been asked to address an incident of cyberbullying on a non-district website, the District thought it would be helpful to create a webpage to:

  • Raise the awareness regarding the seriousness of cyberbullying,
  • Provide insight concerning the District's policy on bullying,
  • Provide helpful information on how to support responsible use of the Internet at home, and
  • Provide a reminder of the District programs, resources and activities provided in support of our students and their families.

Although this incident did not happen at one of our schools, but in cyberspace, Board Policy FFI (Local) addresses bullying of District students, timely reporting, reporting procedures, district action and  confidentiality. Rest assured that in the event of any bullying, FBISD administrators take prompt corrective action.

“We are grateful that our students have reported online harassment, and we appreciate the cooperation of students, parents, our staff, law enforcement officials and social online networks who share the responsibility to protect our young people from being bullied,” said Robert Calvert, FBISD Chief Information Officer.
