Dorcas Melia takes enormous pride in her job. She is always patient, respectful to her colleagues, and willing to go above and beyond the scope of her job, including working as the school’s landscaper on the weekends. She always has a smile on her face and has the ability to put people at ease. Dorcas is very knowledgeable and takes the time to get to know each student and parent on a first-name basis. The fact that her coworkers admire her dedication and consider her the “glue that binds them together” is what has earned her the recognition of the Curriculum Department and the Employee of the Month Committee.
Becky Walker’s exceptional talent as a graphics designer and her positive attitude and work ethic, have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and the recognition of the Employee of the Month Committee. Becky has been with FBISD for 15 years and her designs of both print and electronic communications have won numerous awards annually from both the state and national school public relations associations. She works with her department staff as well as many other departments and campuses throughout the district, and consistently surpasses everyone’s expectations through her creativity and dedication to meeting project goals and deadlines.
Melia and Walker were honored by the FBISD Board of Trustees at their May 10th regular meeting.
