Scholarship Recipients to Pursue Careers in Nursing
FORT BEND ISD - The Healthcare and Nursing Education Foundation (HNEF) has awarded two academic scholarships to former Fort Bend ISD graduates, Katherine Daniels of Elkins High School and Rania Ebrahim of Dulles High School. They were selected based on their academic standing, leadership ability, community involvement, financial need and commitment to pursue a professional nursing career in the Houston area. They each will receive up to $3,000 per year for their freshman and sophomore years in college and $4,000 per year for their junior and senior years to be applied towards tuition, books and/or fees.
Katherine Daniels, a graduate of Elkins High School, is now a senior in the nursing program at The University of Texas Health Science Center. Ebrahim graduated from Dulles High School and will begin her sophomore year at Prairie View A&M University, where she is the Historian for the Nursing Association.
More than 50 students are currently receiving assistance from HNEF, which was founded in 1994 and strives to make a critical difference in the health of the greater Houston community by providing nursing scholarships and community grants.
