Mathlete Competition Winners Named at Brazos Bend Elementary School 

FORT BEND ISD - Brazos Bend Elementary School students were among the more than 225 students to participate in the 2010 Mini Mathlete Competition, sponsored by Austin High School’s Math Honor Society. Participating schools included Brazos Bend, Cornerstone, Oyster Creek, and Walker Station Elementary Schools. The annual competition challenged students in competitive math problems, trivia and games.

Brazos Bend Elementary students earned the following awards:

• Fourth-Grade Overall Test – Pal A., 5^th place; Sarah Z., 6^th place; and Brian H., honorable mention
• Trivia – Faris Z., 1^st place; Brian H., 6^th place
• Calculator – Ashwin H., 1^st place; Monali P., honorable mention
• Challenge – Pal A., 6^th place; Anjali B., honorable mention
• Speed – Preethi S., 8^th place
• TAKS – Gina L., 7^th place
