Fort Bend ISD Academic Advisory Council Call for New Members

FORT BEND ISD ― Fort Bend ISD is seeking business and community members, and parents of students enrolled in FBISD schools to volunteer on its Academic Advisory Council (AAC) for the 2010-2011 school year. The Council works with the Board of Trustees or its designee in establishing and reviewing the district’s educational goals, objectives and major district-wide classroom instructional programs. The Council serves exclusively in an advisory role except for approval of district-wide staff development. The Council consists of campus teachers, support personnel, and administrators, as well as parents, community and business members. The Council is currently seeking the following:

• One business member
• One community member
• One middle school parent
• One elementary school parent

The AAC meets up to six (6) times a year on a Wednesday afternoon at 4:15 p.m. in the FBISD Board Room. Selections for the Council will be made from a random drawing from all volunteers.
